Flower Hot Pad

I made this hot pad using 100% cotton yarn.

I put very thich quilt batting inside, so I can use this hot pad as oven mitten too.

Supplies

50g(170m) of Daiso cotton yarn or other light fingering/fingering yarn

2.50mm crochet hook

Fablic and quilt batting for lining

Yarn needle

Finishing size:

14cm each side

Abbreviations:

sc = single crochet

hdc = half double crochet

dc = double crochet

tr = treble crochet

sl st = slip stitch

Special Stitch Instruction:

dc-cluster = (yarn over, insert hook in stitch, yarn over, pull yarn thru stitch, yarn over, pull yarn thru 2 loops on hook) 3 times, yarn over and pull yarn thru all 4 loops on hook.

beg-cluster = ch2, (yarn over, insert hook in stitch, yarn over, pull yarn thru stitch, yarn over, pull yarn thru 2 loops on hook) 2 times, yarn over and pull yarn thru all 3 loops on hook.

tr-cluster = (yarn over twice, insert hook in stitch, yarn over, pull yarn thru stitch, yarn over, pull yarn thru 2 loops on hook, yarn over, pull yarn thru 2loops on hook) 2 times, yarn over and pull yarn thru all 3 loops on hook.

Instruction:

Right Side Garment:

Make 1.

Round1: in magic ring, ch3(count as dc), *ch1, 1dc* 11times in ring, end with 1sc in top of ch3.

Round2: 1beg-cluster in sp below, skip next dc, [ch2, 1dc-cluster, skip next dc] repeat around, end with ch1 and 1sc in top of beginning cluster.

Round3: 1beg-cluster, skip next cluster, [ch5, 1dc-cluster, skip next cluster] repeat around, end with ch2 and 1dc in top of beginning cluster.

Round4: ch1(do not count as sc), 1sc in sp below, ch3, [(1sc, ch3, 1sc) in next ch5 sp, ch3] repeat around, 1sc in same sp of beginning sc, ch3, join with sl st in beginning sc and sl st in next ch3 sp.

Round5: ch1(do not count as sc), 1sc in sp below, 7dc in next ch3 sp, [1sc in next ch3 sp, 7dc n next ch3 sp] repeat around, join with sl st in beginning sc and sl st in next 4dc.

Round6: ch3(count as tr), 1tr in dc below, ch3, *1hdc in 2nd dc, ch3, 1sc in 6th dc* of next 7dc, ch3, *1sc in 2nd dc, ch3, 1hdc in 6th dc* of next 7dc, ch3, [(1tr-cluster, ch5, 1tr-cluster) in 4th dc of next 7dc, ch3, *1hdc in 2nd dc, ch3, 1sc in 6th dc* of next 7dc, ch3, *1sc in 2nd dc, ch3, 1hdc in 6th dc* of next 7dc, ch3] repeat around, 1tr-cluster in same dc of beginning tr, end with ch2 and 1dc in beginning tr.

You should have 144dc around.

Fasten off, weave in ends.

Wrong Side Garment:

Make 1.

Row1: ch36, 1dc in 5th ch from hook and dc in each ch. Turn.

Row2-16: ch3(count as dc), dc in each dc. Turn at the end of each row.

Round17: ch3(count as dc), 2dc in last dc of row16, dc in next 31dc, 2dc in top of beginning ch3 of row16, turn the work 90 degree, 1dc in corner, 35dc in left side of work, turn the work 90 degree, 1dc in corner, 2dc in next ch of beginning ch, 31dc in each ch and 2dc in last ch, turn the work 90 degree again, 1dc in corner, 35dc in right side of work, join with sl st in top of ch3.

You should have 144dc around.

Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Join:

Put 2 pieces together with lining and quilt batting between if desired, then attach the yarn and sc in each stitch to join together.
